Staff Sergeant Ruben Tala was traveling with his family in the Sierra on Highway 50 when he saw an SUV spin out of control. Video showed how he and other good Samaritans rescued the driver and his wife as the vehicle dangled over the edge of the roadway. “I thought about my wife and my daughter. What if there’s a family in that car? Somebody has to help,” Tala said.
