We are honored to share that a beautifully preserved 1800’s pump organ has found its new home in the Frontier Town chapel. This remarkable instrument was generously donated by Steve and Sheila Hall, and we could not be more thankful for their gift. With ties through the Sons and Daughters of Montana Pioneers, this organ’s journey to Frontier Town feels especially meaningful. Very special moment: Singing “Nearer My God To Thee” with the Tufts pump organ at Sunday’s Hymn Sing. Rev. Edgar Tufts sang this hymn with Lees-McRae students at the top of Beech Mountain during their annual “Mountain Day” hike. The pump organ traveled with Rev. Tufts, usually on horseback, for services at area mountain churches he also served in the early 1900s.
