Say hello to my little friend... This is Formosia mirabilis, a Tachinid fly endemic to New Guinea, and a sporadic visitor to my garden. To me, it's very aptly named from the Latin word meaning "wonderful," "marvelous," "amazing," or "admirable." I seem to have the only tagged research grade observation on iNaturalist for this species- funny seeing just one pin drop on the entire world map. ° ° nature is my garden with all the amazing tropical orchids, plants and flowers of Papua New Guinea! 🌺🌿
