A couple of weeks ago, John 'Frog' Newman’s earthly journey came to an end. His funeral filled the Burnie Town Hall at the Burnie Arts Centre, filled with past NW legends of footy, Lindsay Bell, Putt McCarthy, Carl Gaby, Graeme Shepherd and Graeme Hay - to name a few. He was held in high regard by those he played with and against. Frog was a great friend and mentor of mine, so I thought I’d give him a mention in Parliament.
