Fort Loudoun historic state park is located along the Tellico Lake which was formed by the Tennessee River in Vonore Tennessee. Fort Loudoun was a British fortification built in 1756 during the French and Indian war to secure an alliance with the Cherokee Nation against the French. Tensions eventually led to a conflict with the Cherokee, who captured the Fort in 1760, and the structure was destroyed shortly thereafter. Today the park features a reconstruction of the fort. #fortloudoun #CherokeeH
