The Chinese-owned company said it would cut off its services unless the U.S. assures Apple, Google and other companies that they would not be punished for hosting and distributing TikTok.

TikTok said it will have to “go dark” this weekend unless the outgoing Biden administration assures the company it won’t enforce a shutdown of the popular app after the Supreme Court on Friday unanimously upheld the federal law banning the app unless it’s sold by its China-based parent company.

TikTok said it would “go dark” on Sunday unless President Joe Biden’s administration offered assurance that it would not enforce a ban upheld Friday by the Supreme Court for the app’s U.S. operations to be sold or booted over “national security concerns.
