Significant progress was made to contain and control the Elk and Lee Fires in Rio Blanco County near Meeker over the weekend.
Officials announced Saturday that the lightning-sparked Elk Fire, first reported on Aug. 2, 11 miles southeast of Meeker in Rio Blanco County, is fully contained.
