Forecasters say some of today's thunderstorms may pack a big punch, with winds strong enough to damage trees and power lines.

The chance of a tropical system developing on July 4th continue to increase, but there's a silver lining. The tropical system has a 60% chance for development over the next seven days and a 20% chance over the next 48 hours.

Hurricane Flossie is starting to fall apart in the Eastern Pacific. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring the waters around Florida for an area of low pressure to possibly develop this weekend along a weakening frontal boundary.

The National Hurricane Center says there is a 50% chance over seven days that a tropical or subtropical cyclone could form.
