Code Red on Atlanta Falcons Offensive Line

The Falcons offensive line is having a tough day on the injury front on Wednesday. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that tackle Storm Norton is set to miss six-to-eight weeks after having ankle surgery. Norton has been sideline for an extended period of time this month.
Per Schefter, swing tackle and key Kaleb McGary insurance Storm Norton had ankle surgery yesterday, which comes with a recovery timeline of 6-8 weeks. That would put him on track to return sometime in October, which is better than missing the season but makes for a very scary problem at this moment in time.
McGary, who just signed a two-year, $30 million extension with the team a few weeks ago, has been a mainstay along the Falcons’ offensive line since being drafted in the first round in 2019. He has appeared in 93 games (92 starts) at right tackle in that time, developing a reputation as a nasty run blocker.
McGary was carted off at Wednesday’s practice with a left leg injury and an initial report said that he’d miss time without an idea of how much time. Morris suggested it will be at least the first four games of the regular season because that’s the minimum time players are out when they go on injured reserve.
The Falcons must trim their roster to 53 players by Tuesday afternoon. Here's what we think it's going to look like.

The Falcons Wire on MSNFalcons release 12 players from 90-man roster in first wave of cuts
The Atlanta Falcons got an early start on their roster cuts, releasing 12 players and placing offensive lineman Jake Hanson on injured reserve. Defensive lineman Morgan Fox was arguably the most surprising of Saturday's cuts. The veteran had a $3 million guarantee in the contract he signed over the offseason.
The Falcons could very well make a move to replace Kaleb McGary until he is healthy. However, it isn't going to be a move that will be jaw dropping.
