President Donald Trump has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in the past, but has never won. Cambodian Buddhist monks think he should.

While Trump did receive a Cambodian nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, the nomination came from the country's prime minister, Hun Manet. Yon Seng Yeath, a leading figure among Cambodian buddhist monks, declared the group's support for Hun Manet's nomination on Aug. 10, 2025.

The summit comes after a string of deals the White House said Trump has helped broker globally that should earn him something he has long desired -- a Nobel Peace Prize.
