Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day approaching, but so is the snow as it blankets communities in Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 12. It’s estimated that there should be a four-to-six-inch snow total from Muskegon and Grand Rapids to northeast Lower Michigan, the Saginaw Valley area and southeast Lower Michigan.

Unplowed snow on neighborhood roads could cause some schools to delay opening Thursday, or even close. For many school systems, it will mark the third straight day of disruption. On Tuesday, many schools dismissed early or closed because of the incoming storm.

For the second consecutive day, New Jersey school districts have announced school closings and delayed openings due to a winter storm hitting the state overnight. Some parts of northwestern New Jersey could see 1 to 2 inches of snow,
