Actor Jerry Adler has died at 96. Adler started his career behind the scenes in theater and worked on more than 50 Broadway productions.

For decades, he rehearsed Broadway’s greatest shows from behind the scenes, then exploded onto the screen as The Sopranos’ Hesh Rabkin

Mr. Adler had dozens of behind-the-scenes Broadway credits before he stepped in front of the camera in his 60s.
