Cook County is now under a Winter Storm Warning as bursts of lake effect snow will hit the city, south suburbs and Northwest Indiana Friday and Saturday.

Several inches of snow hit the Chicago area Sunday, causing hundreds of flight delays and cancellations and more closures at school districts across the area for Monday.

Chicagoans endured another frigid January day as wind chills dipped below zero and lake-effect snow continued to impact parts of the region, though conditions were beginning to improve.

Dangerously cold temperatures returned to the Chicago weather forecast Monday, a day after a winter storm dumped snow totaling over six inches on much of the area.

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers are set to play in the wild-card round of the 2025playoffs, but the weather conditions do not appear favorable. Snow is already falling at Soldier Field ahead of the matchup, starting to accumulate on the field.
