SPRINGFIELD — Senate President Don Harmon will not have to pay a nearly $10 million fine for violating state campaign finance laws last year after the State Board of Elections deadlocked Tuesday on approving the fine.

The state certified the results of the General Election on Nov. 19, making them official. They show that just over 50% of Bergen County registered voters cast a ballot in the Nov. 4 race, which elected the state's next governor. While turnout was lower than in previous years, Bergen County voters continued with their pattern of voting Democratic.
