Poland's InPost will invest an additional 600 million pounds ($735 million) by 2029 to expand its operations in the United Kingdom, the UK government said on Thursday.

Americans heading to the United Kingdom will need an Electronic Travel Authorization, or ETA, starting Jan. 8. It costs $12.50.

A suspicious package was discovered outside the United States embassy in London on Friday morning, police said.

The ETA is a new visa waiver required to travel to the United Kingdom for any trips that last six months or less for business or pleasure starting Jan. 8, 2025. This is not unlike the United States’ ESTA program, which requires incoming travelers to pay for an “authorization to travel, with security clearance done in advance,” CNN reported.

The U.K., France and other allies have discussed the possibility of deploying peacekeeping troops to Ukraine as the war escalates.

As of Jan. 8, an electronic travel authorization will be required for visitors from dozens of visa-exempt countries, including the United States and Canada.
