The Saints are still searching for a head coach but Kliff Kingsbury may not be interested in the job after his success in Washington.

Between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy has been coaching in the NFC for 18 years, and he's accrued a record of 174-112-2 in that time. Despite three consecutive 12-5 seasons in the middle of his tenure with the Cowboys, a 7-10 campaign in 2024 was all Jerry Jones needed to see before deciding to go in a different direction.

Mike McCarthy is no longer planning to coach this year, sources told ESPN, while Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has emerged as a lead candidate for the Saints job, the last remaining head coach vacancy in the NFL.

Kliff Kingsbury has generated interest as a head-coaching candidate this offseason, but he has decided to stick with his current job for at least another year. Kingsbury will return as offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders in 2025,

Mike McCarthy has decided against coaching in 2025, removing himself as a candidate to fill the NFL's last remaining head coaching vacancy with the New Orleans Saints. A person familiar with McCarthy's decision disclosed it to The Associated Press on Tuesday night on condition of anonymity because McCarthy and the Saints have not discussed it publicly.

Kliff Kingsbury is expected to be among the most sought-after head coaching candidates this offseason but he may be hurting his own chances of actually landing a job.

Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury has elected not to pursue a head coaching job in 2025, a team source confirmed to ESPN's John Keim.

Kingsbury declined to conduct any interviews while the Commanders remained in the postseason, where they lost on Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC championship. The Saints are the only NFL team still seeking to hire a head coach and had requested an interview with Kingsbury that he will not take.

McCarthy is the third high-profile candidate to pull out of the Saints' search, joining Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Washington offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.

As the New Orleans Saints head into the offseason looking to bolster their roster, the team is also looking for their next head coach with one in mind being Mike McCarthy, who was at the helm for the Dallas Cowboys last season. While the Saints will interview McCarthy, NFL insider Adam Schefter spoke about how he makes the most sense for the role.
