In fact, his 20 saves were the fewest he's needed in a winning effort this season, beating his Oct. 11 win over the Sabres by one save. But when the Bruins needed a key stop, their No. 1 ace in goal was there.

Barrett Hayton put Utah on the board first, beating Jeremy Swayman through traffic with 12:26 left in the first. Morgan Geekie snapped his season-long three-game goal drought with 3:59 left in the first. His 23rd goal of the season came on the power play and tied the game 1-1 after the first.

The injury bug is continuing to bite the Boston Bruins. The Bruins have announced that defenseman Jonathan Aspirot will miss the remainder of the team's game against the Winnipeg Jets due to an upper-body injury.

Boston opens the trip Tuesday against the Blues before stops in Winnipeg and Minnesota later this week. The team ruled Pastrnak out of a previous trip at the start of December, but the star forward is now back with the group after missing time since he last played on Nov. 26.

Paval Zacha scored twice, Joonas Korpisalo made 37 saves and the Boston Bruins beat the St. Louis Blues 5-2 on Thursday night. Morgan Geekie had goal and two assists.

The Bruins will have an unexpected new challenge when they face the Minnesota Wild on Sunday in St. Paul. The Wild acquired Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks on Friday evening according to ESPN. The Canucks’ disappointing start had created considerable rumors that Hughes, the 26-year-old former Norris Trophy winner, could get dealt.

Captain Jared Spurgeon (power play), Kirill Kaprizov (team-leading 19th and 20th), Ryan Hartman (second in as many games) and Matt Boldy (18th) supplied the other goals, but it was Faber who appeared to benefit most from Hughes’ arrival.
