Overwatch launched a new game mode, Stadium, last week as part of its 16th season. After playing the mode ahead of launch for a week, I called it "the first thing that has felt truly new in the game since it came out.

Overwatch 2's Stadium mode was first launched alongside Season 16 on April 22, 2025 with 17 heroes and 9 available maps. Over the next few seasons,

Stadium is more than just an Overwatch 2 mode—it's different enough that it could almost be classified as its own game, and a separate game needs a separate roadmap. The developers have planned out the next three seasons of Stadium, albeit roughly, that'll coincide with the regular cadence of seasons.
