SUNY Plattsburgh is bustling with students once again. New students, most of them freshman, moved into the dorms Wednesday. There were long lines outside of the dorms as families waited for elevators to move the bins of belongings into their new home for the year.

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. ( ABC22/FOX44) – Multiple Plattsburgh streets will undergo road-resurfacing and milling projects this week, and may impact where you park. Working hours on Autumn Drive, Jerry Drive, Meadowvale Road and Kelvin Lane will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day, starting August 18 and ending August 22.

The Essential Air Service program funds commercial flights to small airports around the country. The Trump White House has proposed cutting that funding by half.

On Wednesday, new students at University of Vermont and SUNY Plattsburgh will be moving in ahead of this school year. It means hundreds of families from all over will be coming to campuses. It will definitely be a busy day today,

The United Way of the Adirondack Region is kicking off it’s 2026 fundraising campaign with a unique event called “Over The Edge.” Donors will have the chance to safely rappel down the face of one of Plattsburgh’s taller buildings.

The congresswoman and local Republican committee leaders butted heads over the candidate selection process in the upcoming special election for Assembly.

Crews are working to clear residents in the area of 206 to 210 Margaret Street due to an active structure fire. That is near Oak Street Elementary School. Multiple crews are on scene, including the Plattsburgh City Fire Department.
