A federal judge sentenced former Louisville Police detective Brett Hankison to 33 months in prison for the shots he fired during the fatal 2020 raid on Breonna Taylor's apartment.

Hankison, who shot several times during the botched Breonna Taylor raid in March 2020, was in court at the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Louisville, Kentucky on July 21, 2025.

Attorneys for Taylor said that while they were hoping for a more severe sentence, they were grateful for the decision.
