The decision was made due to the way Wilkins was treating the rehab for the foot injury that cost him all but five games last season.

The Las Vegas Raiders released prized free-agent signee Christian Wilkins on Thursday, blaming the defensive tackle for not giving the organization an acceptable recovery plan for his broken foot.

ESPN reported that the Raiders voided $35.2 million of guaranteed money still due Wilkins, triggering a grievance Wilkins filed with the players’ association.
