Aurora police release name of driver suspected of causing death of other driver near I-225 and Iliff
The identity of the driver accused of speeding and running a red light in Colorado on Thursday and then smashing into another car -- and killing that driver -- has been released.
Aurora Police Sgt. Aaron Bunch is accused of exchanging child exploitation material online, leading to unpaid leave and an FBI investigation.
As of 3 p.m., the intersection of Iliff Avenue and Blackhawk Street was closed to all traffic for the crash cleanup and investigation, Aurora police said.
A driver is dead and two people are in custody while being treated at a hospital after a crash that shut down all lanes of Blackhawk Street and Iliff Avenue in Aurora.
Phan and the passenger in his car were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Phan was later arrested and booked into the Aurora Municipal Detention Center. Phan is being held on suspicion of vehicular homicide and vehicular eluding, police said.
