PARIS, France – Reigning champion Coco Gauff’s French Open title defense came to an end in the third round on Saturday as top seed Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka both won to set up a blockbuster last-16 clash.
For the first time in her career, world No. 16 Naomi Osaka advanced to the fourth round of the French Open on Saturday with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (3-7), 6-4 victory over American Iva Jovic.
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka also won, beating Australia's Daria Kasatkina 6-0, 7-5, to set up a blockbuster clash against Osaka in the last-16.
