COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - American Freight, a discount furniture and appliance chain, is set to close all its stores nationwide, including the location in Columbus.

And the latest furniture news comes from American Freight, a national retailer that’s shutting down all of its stores, as its parent company, Franchise Group, continues Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. American Freight has a dozen stores in North Carolina, including one in Raleigh.

American Freight Appliances and Furniture recently “commenced store closing sales at all of its 328 locations and online,” according to a Wednesday, Nov. 6, news release from Hilco Consumer-Retail, which is managing the sales for American Freight.
