Microsoft's latest round of layoffs has ended development on a number of games, ranging from Everwild to an unannounced sci-fi shooter.

Rare’s long-in-development game Everwild is no more, according to a report from Video Games Chronicle, citing sources at the studio. The enigmatic open-world adventure has been canceled, nearly six years after it was first revealed and after a decade of some form of development on Everwild.

Rare's fantasy adventure Everwild has been cancelled following layoffs at Xbox. Microsoft began making layoffs across its gaming division today, with staff at the likes of King and Zenimax reportedly affected. It now appears that Everwild is another casualty of these reductions.
