The State Department said it would start a pilot program that will require cash deposits to tourist and business visas for people from countries with high overstay rates.

The administration of President Donald Trump has revoked more than 6,000 student visas for overstays and breaking the law, including a small minority for "support for terrorism," a State Department official said on Monday.

The move comes as the Trump administration continues its immigration crackdown of which international students have been a focus.
