President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the U.S. would impose a 19% tariff on goods from Indonesia under a new agreement with the Southeast Asian country and said more deals were in the works as he continued to press for what he views as better terms with trading partners and a path to reducing a massive U.

Donald Trump has announced that Indonesia will pay a 19 per cent tariff on exports to the US after Washington and Jakarta agreed a trade deal. The US president said he had spoken to his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto, and that the deal with Jakarta will give the US “full access to Indonesia, everything”.

Indonesia also has agreed to purchase billions in U.S. energy, agriculture products and airplanes, Trump said July 15 in a social media post.
