The US House is preparing a final vote on President Donald Trump’s tax and spending bill after overnight talks to secure Republican support. Democrats, led by Hakeem Jeffries, slammed the nearly 900-page package as a gift to billionaires and a threat to Medicaid.

Advocates say the impact of potential Medicaid cuts will be felt from cities to rural areas and that it won't just take a toll on those enrolled in Medicaid, but staffing levels at hospitals as well.
