Ryan Preece's crash Sunday was the latest in an uptick of cars flipping after wrecks and the second such incident for Preece in two years.

Ryan Preece is calling on NASCAR to do more to prevent cars from becoming airborne during superspeedway races.

"We know where there’s a problem, at superspeedways. … When it finally gets somebody, I don’t want it to be me."

With four laps left, Preece turned upside-down and essentially did a wheelie in his No. 60 Ford. His car flipped onto its roof and turned back onto its tires before hitting the outside wall. Preece dropped his safety net to signal to crews he was OK. He finished 32nd.

Preece was referring to the wreck he endured on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway: the one where he was knocked in the side by an out-of-control Christopher Bell, into Erik Jones, and up into the air at 190-plus miles per hour — floating and flipping upside down until he crashed into the wall, almost into the fence.
