Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate Middleton and Prince William will not attend the BAFTA Film Awards on Feb. 16, 2025.

Sunday's British Academy Film Awards (aka the BAFTAs) in London promise to be a star-studded event (nominees include Cynthia Erivo, Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore, to name a few), but two BAFTAs mainstays are skipping this year's ceremony: Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Some of Kate Middleton’s most unforgettable fashion moments have come from her red-carpet appearances at the BAFTA Awards, the annual celebration for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, of which husband Prince William is president.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be no-shows at the 2025 BAFTA Awards. Kensington Palace confirmed the Prince and Princess of Wales are not attending the BAFTA Film Awards taking place Sunday, Feb. 16.

Royal fans have been eagerly awaiting the 2025 BAFTAs on Feb. 16 in hopes that Princess Kate would make her big red carpet return, but on Monday, Feb. 10, palace sources confirmed that neither the Prince or Princess of Wales will attend the star-studded ceremony.

"I think William and Kate see George as primus inter pares—first among equals," Phil said. “Obviously he is the most important one. Yes, he is the future King but the way things are going Charlotte and Louis may have major roles in the future. Certainly the royal family will need them as they are getting thin on the ground."
