Nearly 400 arrests have been made since President Donald Trump declared a public safety emergency in the District and activated National Guard troops to assist local law enforcement, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Washington, D.C., officials are taking the Trump administration to court over what they call an unlawful federal seizure of the city’s police force, a move that’s now escalated into a showdown over immigration enforcement and the city’s limited right to self-government.

Attorney General Pam Bondi declared on Thursday an end to Washington, D.C.’s sanctuary city era and ordered the immediate dismantling of policies that protect criminal aliens from federal immigration enforcement.
