Lance and Garoppolo notoriously battled for the starting quarterback job in 2022. However, a season-ending injury to Lance early in the season thrusted Garoppolo back in action before he was lost for the season and then some guy named Brock Purdy became the starter and the rest is history.

Konata Mumpfield won with a nifty route at the line of scrimmage, getting wide open in the end zone for a Rams touchdown.

Brennan Jackson had two sacks and Desjuan Johnson paved the way for them. The Chargers, built to run the football, averaged 3.6 yards per carry. Take away quarterbacks Trey Lance and Taylor Heinicke, the Chargers averaged 2.3 yards per carry.

The Los Angeles Rams have a lot of potential Pro Bowlers heading into the 2025 season. Jared Verse, the only Rams player to make the Pro Bowl in 2024, is the most likely one to earn another nod. Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and Kyren Williams are all good enough to make the team, too.

The Los Angeles Rams took on the Los Angeles Chargers in preseason action on Saturday night. While the Rams came out victorious, the lessons learned from the contest may prove to be the key to success, especially with Matthew Stafford's health remaining a massive concern.
