The veteran NBA coach and former leader of the Lakers would replace Tom Thibodeau, who was fired last month despite leading the Knicks to the conference finals.

The Knicks quickly identified Brown, NBA Coach of the Year in both Cleveland and Sacramento, as a candidate they wanted to speak with. He had his second interview on Tuesday.

T he Knicks are expected to hire Mike Brown as their new head coach, reports Shams Charania of ESPN. NBA insider Chris Haynes confirms Brown has been offered the job and says the two sides are working “expeditiously” on finalizing the terms of a contract.
