When the Los Angeles Lakers decided to draft rookie guard Bronny James in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, they invited all sorts of criticism toward them. Los Angeles drafted James because they believed he could help the team out down the line but many were critical of the decision.

Arenas cited the play of two former Hall of Fame pass-first point guards as the kind of deferential performers after whom Bronny James needs to model his game. Though he isn't projected to have those league superstars' upside, Bronny James can still ape their ethos — or so Arenas thinks.

The young guard may only be playing in the South Bay Lakers' home games this season instead of traveling on the road with the team like a normal G League player.
