Longtime residents of Minnesota criticized the state government, including Governor Tim Walz, over a massive fraud crisis involving members of the Somali community.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has sent federal employees into Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, to investigate federally administered aid programs following the discovery of a massive welfare fraud scheme believed to have been carried out by Somali immigrants.

The official announcement will be coming Wednesday, on the heels of the community’s city council approving a purchase agreement.
