The animated movie, already a hit on streaming, will screen to sell-out crowds in theaters for special sing-along showings. But Netflix won't release box office numbers.

James Gunn is now the head of the DC universe, and as part of his plan, he’s working on a Supergirl movie for release in 2026. Supergirl appeared in the season 2 premiere of Peacemaker, a series written and directed by Gunn. The scene was part of a flashback, detailing the events of last season’s Peacemaker adventures.

Seeking to capitalise on its monster hit, Netflix is hosting ‘singalongs’ at 1,700 North American cinemas this weekend.
