Fourth of July barbecues, beach days and boating trips can go on as planned this holiday weekend as the forecast calls for ideal weather for all outdoor activities. After parts of the state got thunderstorms Thursday night, Massachusetts residents can expect sunny and less humid weather on Friday.

The Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission Regulations state that Massachusetts residents can buy alcohol from liquor stores on the Fourth of July. Beer, wine, and liquor can also be purchased at open grocery stores. While there are no specific hour restrictions, people should check their local liquor store’s hours.

The weather forecast is perfect for a day at the beach this July 4th. But more than 20 beaches at lakes and ponds are closed for swimming across Massachusetts on Friday.
