This heist film from Boston native Shawn Simmons debuts on Hulu Friday (Aug. 22) is a movie wrapped in a personal tale of Edie (Samara Weaving), a young woman with a talent for high-speed driving that she used to make use of effectively serving as the wheel woman for a robbery crew.

Eenie Meanie isn't trying to overhaul the heist or car genres into something new, but it shows up with all of the things we expect from the genre, only polished to a shine.

Director James Gunn brought “Superman” to Cleveland for its art deco architecture, creating the timeless Metropolis he envisioned. “Eenie Meanie” takes a different route, showing the city’s rougher edges: the industrial Flats, working-class neighborhoods like Ohio City and dive bars such as the Peek-a-Boo Club.
