A Batman #1 doesn’t come along very often. Well, unless you’ve been reading comics for the past 15 years, in which case, it’s come along a couple times already. Modern comic books! But even then, in what is about to be eight-and-a-half-decades of Batman that’s still not a lot of relaunches–and DC is going all-in to make this fourth one stand out.

At ComicsPro DC pulled the curtain back on the next era of Batman, and it will be a truly talented creative team leading the charge. DC has revealed the first look at Batman #1, which will begin in September and will be helmed by writer Matt Fraction,

DC Studios has finally found a director to mold Clayface. After several months of searching, Speak No Evil helmer James Watkins has been chosen to direct the feature based on the Batman villain, which has a script from horror maestro Mike Flanagan.

As recent reports have suggested, the first Batman villain to feature in their own solo project in James Gunn’s DCU is none other than Clayface. And now, the Clayface film has a director attached.
