The first round of bills from the Colorado legislature’s latest special session is heading to Polis’ desk after receiving final approval from lawmakers Sunday.

The Colorado Senate gave final approval to four bills on Friday morning, sending them to the state House of Representatives, as lawmakers continue a special legislative session convened to address a billion-dollar state budget gap triggered by changes to the federal tax code.

The legislature is trying to head off a law that takes effect early next year. They’ll have several different choices of how to do that.
