The Brooklyn Nets intend to keep forward Michael Porter Jr. after getting him in a trade from the Denver Nuggets, per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

As first reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, Michael Porter Jr. and Denver's unprotected 2032 first-round pick are headed to Brooklyn in exchange for Cam Johnson. The move has pretty serious implications for both the Nets and Nuggets—immediately and over the long term.

The Nuggets' desire to turn Porter Jr. into a better two-way fit for the roster was well known, but no one was quite sure if they'd find a team willing to take on the remaining $79 million on his deal.
