With rain coming down so fast, storm drains couldn't handle the deluge of water. On Interstate 93 in Quincy, all were lanes closed at one point because of extreme flooding during rush hour. At least five cars were stuck on the highway until the water receded.
An updated tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 5:52 p.m. in effect until 6:30 p.m. for Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
A line of severe thunderstorms spawned two tornado warnings and several areas of flash flooding Wednesday evening.
Downpours set off flood warnings Wednesday night for Philly and surrounding areas, and most of Chester County and northern Delaware. These conditions may be around until Monday, maybe longer.
